Microsoft, Intel and World Wide Technology’s hybrid cloud solution really helps health systems to scale and have greater optics for the patient and population longitudinal journey. Clinical resources are thin right now. We see that the numbers entering med school are starting to increase a little bit but you can't train a doctor or nurse overnight. It takes time. The AAMC noted shortages last year between 21,000 to 55,000 for primary care physicians.
We know what we know and we don't know what we don't know. So we tend to go towards what we know. But organizations are getting more sophisticated. How are other industries, outside of healthcare, doing this? How are they making their consumer experience platinum level?
In our IT help desk software we created a pandemic dashboard. We’ve got about 75 items that we’re tracking right now. Early on it was the screening centers and then work from home. We had to deploy a lot of laptops and connect folks that were not typical remote users. It’s now shifted to managing the call centers. It’s different than when you have everybody in the same building. We’re now supporting our operational partners from a unified communication perspective.
