Email with about 14 stories. We're going to go through as many of them as we can, as quickly as we can. First story hospitals, get big grants to install epics, E H R. And let's see, this is essentially what we have is grants are going to small rural hospitals. You have Garrett regional medical center in Oakland, Maryland received 650 federal funding grant for an epic EHR system to replace its current medical record.

And really the drive here is to get. The rural small safety net, hospitals. , , essentially on an EHR, get them on a digital platform. Then you have Washington county, Iowa, hospitals and clinics as slaves received, sent her. 30. $753,000 grant. From the us department of agriculture to implement epic CHR and Sinai, Chicago received $1 million grant.

From Michael Reese health trust to install epic EHR. , you know how I read this? I'm sure there's going to be people who go crazy and say, I can't believe this is how money is being spent. , again, a federal dollars flowing directly into epics coffers. But at the end of the day, it has a purpose. And if I were reading this as a CIO, I, especially if I was a small, rural or safety net hospital,

I would be saying to myself, how do I get some of that grant money? And what does it take to get that grant money? I would look at these three again. It's right here in the story. It's the hospitals get big grants to install epic. CHR my guess is they could get grants to install any EHR. , as long as it's a, one of the approved ones on the, ,

On the I'm going to say ONC. CMS. , CMS or ONC, I forget which one authorizes it, but whichever you get the, you get the picture. , and I would be looking to get some of this money. Next one, United health group names, chief digital and technology officer. Which is pretty cool. Cool. A United health group has named a sun deep.

Dad's was Mani executive vice president, chief digital and technology officer at Optum UHG has an incredibly powerful mission. , to help people live healthier lives and to help make better a help make the health system work better for everyone. , , let's see, eh, well, that's, that's all there is. And that story for the most part, and we will have to reach out to him and see if we can have him on the show. I think that would be fantastic.

Seven recent healthcare job postings at Amazon senior healthcare. If you're wondering if they're still in healthcare, seems like they are senior healthcare program manager, business development manager for healthcare and life sciences. Healthcare compliance manager. Oh, by the way, some of these are Amazon's home or Amazon web services. So healthcare program managers, Amazon, , business development is Amazon web services, healthcare compliance managers, Amazon manager for academic medical centers, Amazon web services, security and engineering manager, Amazon healthcare.

Three companies, sales representative for nonprofit healthcare, Amazon web services and senior solutions architect for healthcare, life sciences, Amazon web services. So you have three different entities here. Amazon web services is selling. Cloud-based services to health systems and life sciences. That's what all those roles are. The other ones I think are more interesting to consider a senior healthcare program manager at Amazon.

, we'll have the opportunity to design a customer. And clinician engagement program for an innovative new product. Interesting. Well, if you're looking for roles, Amazon is hiring. , what do you, , no, let's see progress, not perfection advocate. Aurora CIO, Bobby. Bernie on healthcare optimization, click here and look at the full story advocate. Aurora health CIO, Bobby Bernie's MD top priority is putting her clinicians first, as well as working to move her organization's business intelligent work.

And analytics to the cloud. So, you know, what are your top priorities? My top priority as CIO is always to support our clinicians and to take care of patients. If we don't put our clinicians first, we really don't. We can't do anything else. The second is working on care model redesign. And third is cyber security on that first one, I agree. A thousand percent. And right now, given the 15, 15,000 nurses that are out on strike.

And it's so important that we are laser focused on our clinicians, making sure that they are doing well. And that, , any, anything that we can do from a technology perspective to address burnout is something that we should be focused on. , some of the challenges, talent development. , what, what does your health system.

Current it environment looked like. And what do you hope to change and improve? That's a really big question. A simple single EMR single ERP solution. So they're still in consolidation mode. They, , advocate in Aurora consolidation. , clearly didn't move fast enough. , quite frankly, I'm not being critical. I'm just saying.

That, , they probably took one of the approaches that is pretty, has been pretty common in healthcare for a long time, which is essentially a move slowly integrate slowly. And those kinds of things. I think it's a bad strategy. Quite frankly. I've talked about this. On several podcasts that I believe the strategy going forward and the organizations that are going to do the best with their MNA strategy.

Are going to be those that really have a plan before they even start talking to organizations about coming together. All right, Oracle, Cerner's $156,000 penalty for VA EHR outages under scrutiny. That is what it is. It's under scrutiny. , I'm not even going to go into that story. I mean, there's some stuff here, but for the most part, that's going to run its course.

, meet the health ID department, chief data officers. And in this story, they introduced a bunch of the chief data officers, Omar. I won. Chief data and digital officer at atrium health in North Carolina. Chief digital officers, fossil for enterprise wide data analytics, business intelligence, data analytics.

Most importantly, promoting data democratization and data literacy across the organization by establishing and spending data as a strategic asset. That's a great definition by the way. , I think the, that defines the data officer pretty Digital officer, not as well. , let's see. What does it say about the digital officer chief digital officers, Thomasville for digital strategy transformation.

And digital consumer experience across the enterprise. This executive ensures that the company's key strategies are supported by emerging and disruptive technologies. Maps digital capabilities to strategic priorities. You know what, if I were writing the job role, I would either get on the phone with, , anyone from atrium who was a part of this.

, CIA, Andy. , Crowder or Omer, , Awan, because this is a great definition for chief digital officers, a great definition for chief data officer. So there you go. They have their, , they have their act together there. , let's see. Wow. That's a name. , Baptist health, south Florida, Shaw.

At death, , par , pill. A death. , par a pill. E D a T H U M P a R a M P I L. Chief data officer and corporate vice-president. , and Jason Jones, chief analytics and data science, officer health catalyst.

And Rady's children's hospitals. Josh and who was also the associate CIO? , Interesting. All right. So you meet the chief data officers there, there's their names and their, some of their titles and roles and what they're doing, , interesting to take a look at, especially if you are. , looking to further your analytics and data and, , digital roles. That's one of the reasons I would read this story, first of all, is to know who's out there. So if I see them or see them on a panel, I might.

Pop my head into his panels. But the other thing I would like to see is, , what are the roles? Because the roles from health system to health system are different. And this helps me to define the roles at my health system and what we should be doing. , five health systems hit with credit downgrades. This is going to happen more and more. , again, not, ,

Not really surprising. , let's see, who do we got here? Tower health ProMedica, premier health MultiCare Memorial health systems. What's this about? , credit rating downgrades for several health systems were tied to capital expenditures and cashflow issues. In recent months, the following five health systems credit ratings downgraded.

, and, and occurred in July. So that's these, aren't the last five. So they will continue. We will continue to see downgrades. We're also monitoring. I think we're going to monitor pretty closely, , coming into the new year. , day's cash on hand will be one of those things that we can take a look on cars, cash.

Cassius king, right. Companies. So go out of business because they're losing money. They go out of business because they run out of cash. So we've got to keep an eye on that. , let's see what else. We got American express to hire 1500 tech workers, mostly in the U S atrium house. Cisco joint, cybersecurity companies board.

And, , a couple of other stories. So, , I don't. I don't think I'm going to go into any of the other stories we've been going for about 10 minutes. That's what I get for those stories. So, , when I, when I do those kinds of reads again, 10 minutes, Went through about 10, 12 stories. I try to stay current. When I was CIO. I tried to do

And just skim these stories really quickly. See what I could get And apply to my house system. So that's my, so what that's all for today, if you know of someone that might benefit from our channel, please forward them a note.
