Study: Google reveals LLM that helps accurately diagnosis complex cases

Summary
Google-DeepMind-developed LLM enhances accurate differential diagnosis (DDx) and clinicians' diagnostic reasoning. LLM builds on Med-PaLM 2 technology, answers medical questions, fine-tuned with medical data enhances performance. Study: 20 clinicians evaluated 302 challenging cases, LLM aided approach delivered 59.1% accuracy vs 33.6% unassisted. Researchers suggest LLM may improve diagnostic accuracy, merits further real-world evaluation. Study limitations acknowledged.
