New models and developer products announced at DevDay
Summary
OpenAI announced updates at DevDay including cost-effective GPT-4 Turbo model with 128k context window, Assistants API for AI app development, and multi-modal features. GPT-4 Turbo optimizes performance, offers knowledge of events up to April 2023, prices 3x cheaper. Function calling updates allow efficient execution of multiple tasks. Improved instruction following, JSON mode, reproducible outputs, and log probabilities are featured as well. Enhancements to GPT-3.5 Turbo include an expanded context window, accurate following of instructions and parallel functioning. OpenAI also introduced Assistants API for agent-like experiences in developers' applications. It also includes GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-3.5 Turbo with vision through Chat Completions API, the DALL·E 3 image integration via Images API, and a text-to-speech API. Prices decreased across platform, rate limits were increased. Copyright shield for copyright infringement protection was launched. Open sourcing of Whisper v3 and Consistency Decoder upcoming.
