Summary
Epic is launching a personalized care data tool this summer to help doctors provide better patient care by leveraging vast health records. Announced at the Health Care Summit in Madison, the tool uses Epic’s Cosmos database, which aggregates data from over 1,400 hospitals and 33,000 clinics. This enables clinicians to compare individual patient histories and outcomes to make informed treatment decisions. The new feature addresses issues like medication choice for hypertension by showing which treatments have yielded the best results for similar patients. It will first be tested in Indiana. Additionally, Epic is investigating AI-driven responses to patient messages to improve workflow efficiency in healthcare facilities.
