Summary
Rady Children’s Health will officially launch on January 1, 2025, as a result of the merger between Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, following approval from the California Office of the Attorney General. The new healthcare system aims to enhance pediatric care across Southern California by improving patient outcomes and promoting health equity, building on a longstanding partnership between the two hospitals. Leadership will be jointly held by CHOC’s Kimberly Chavalas Cripe and Rady’s Patrick A. Frias, MD, focusing on patient care, education, and research while integrating their resources with the University of California's medical schools. The new system will comprise three hospitals: CHOC Hospital in Orange, CHOC at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, and Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
