Health tech startup Forward plans to deploy 25 automated primary care kiosks, dubbed "CarePods", across US malls. Backed by a fresh $100 million funding, the AI-powered CarePods let patients conduct body scans or blood tests independently, with results inspected remotely by medical professionals. Access to CarePods costs $99 monthly. Forward, which also operates 17 clinics in nine states and Washington, D.C., does not accept insurance. The startup's ultimate mission is to provide free healthcare to one billion people.
