Apple has halted the development of the Vision Pro 2, not due to abandonment of the Vision platform but to focus on creating a more affordable and lighter version of the Vision Pro. Initial reviews highlighted the current model's high cost and weight as significant drawbacks. Apple aims to address these issues by developing a new version, internally code-named N109, which will retail for around the price of a high-end iPhone and be at least one-third lighter. This strategic shift is intended to broaden the Vision platform's appeal and market reach, with the Vision Pro 2 possibly returning in the future after establishing a base-model market.
