University Hospitals Rolls Out Virtual Nursing Program Across Enterprise

University Hospitals (UH) has initiated a pioneering virtual nursing program, the Connected Care Team, at UH Lake West Medical Center, becoming one of the first in the U.S. to implement a comprehensive virtual nursing initiative. Utilizing Vitalchat’s AI-driven platform, the program enables remote nurses to assist bedside staff with tasks like admissions, discharges, and patient education, ultimately allowing in-person caregivers to concentrate on direct patient interaction. Following a successful pilot phase that enhanced both patient satisfaction and caregiver engagement, UH plans to expand the program to all inpatient units and explore options for 24/7 operations, indicating a significant shift towards technology-driven care models in healthcare settings.
