UC San Diego Health is exploring the implementation of artificial intelligence-supported cameras in hospital rooms to identify potential patient issues like falls and bed sores, in partnership with Chicago-based Artisight. This potential initiative arises amid increasing cybersecurity threats, particularly after a significant cyberattack in February 2024, leading the health system to emphasize patient privacy and data protection in any future technology adoption.
