Sutter Health is investing in rural healthcare improvements in Northern California, particularly in Del Norte and Lake counties, by enhancing primary care and behavioral health services. The initiatives include establishing an Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment and Healing (EmPATH) unit at Sutter Coast Hospital, which aims to stabilize patients in crises and reduce hospital stays, and acquiring a facility to expand various health services set to start construction in early 2026. In Lake County, a $5.5 million care center in Hidden Valley Lake will address local healthcare shortages by providing urgent care and specialty services.
