Sanford Health Boosts Physician Satisfaction with Innovative Listening Technology

Sanford Health is enhancing physician satisfaction and well-being by addressing employee concerns and implementing ambient listening technology. Dr. Heather Spies, the director of clinician experience and well-being, noted improvements in work-life balance, illustrated by Dr. Wallace "Skipper" Fritz, who now finishes his work by 5:30 p.m. after the introduction of this technology. A pilot program launched in July involved 100 physicians, with preliminary results indicating positive trends in job satisfaction and burnout rates. Since 2022, Sanford has reported an 8% increase in job satisfaction and a 13.8% decrease in burnout, outpacing national averages. Advanced practice providers at Sanford have similar positive metrics.
