Northwell Health Launches School to Combat Healthcare Worker Shortage

Northwell Health is addressing the healthcare workforce shortage by launching the Northwell School of Health Sciences in September, aimed at preparing students for careers in healthcare while improving the lives of New York City residents, especially in underserved communities. The school, supported by a $25 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, will provide specialized training in various healthcare fields and is part of Northwell's collaboration with the New York City Board of Education, which offers mentoring and opportunities to earn college credits. With the goal of enhancing community health and economic stability, students will be equipped to take licensing exams and may secure employment at Northwell, along with access to further educational funding.
