Northwell Health Invests $1.3 Million in Groundbreaking Employee Innovations

Northwell Health has allocated $1.3 million to three employee-led projects through its 2025 Innovation Challenge, which aims to promote scientific advancements in healthcare. The selected initiatives include a video monitor platform for low-latency connections, an AI-based program for detecting sleep apnea, and a comprehensive radiology platform that merges AI insights with clinician input. Over the years, the challenge has seen extensive participation, resulting in funding for 15 projects since 2017. Among the winners, one project enhances surgical assistance through the integration of camera technology and XR glasses, while another seeks to leverage data from home devices for pediatric obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis.
