This enhancement emphasizes the role of leadership in shaping cybersecurity policies and strategies, promoting a unified approach that connects the original five functions: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover. However, healthcare organizations face challenges in accurately maintaining inventories of medical devices, with inaccuracies potentially reaching 40%, which can hinder effective cybersecurity efforts. Addressing these inventory issues is essential for improving overall patient safety and trust.
