HCA Healthcare Faces $350 Million Hit from Hurricane Disruptions

HCA Healthcare has estimated that hurricanes Helene and Milton will result in additional costs and lost revenue between $250 million and $350 million across its facilities in Florida and other impacted states. In a filing with the SEC, HCA reported about $50 million in losses during the third quarter due to Hurricane Helene and anticipates ongoing financial challenges, projecting costs of $200 million to $300 million for the fourth quarter. These expenses are attributed to operational disruptions and increased staffing needs as the company works to manage the impact of the hurricanes while ensuring patient care remains a priority.
