The issue led to Windows systems crashing and displaying a blue screen, disrupting services and operations worldwide. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz clarified that the incident was due to a software defect and not a cyberattack. The company has identified the issue, deployed a fix, and issued a manual workaround for affected clients. Despite these efforts, recovery is ongoing, with many organizations and emergency services significantly impacted.
