Children's Hospital LA Launches Sleep App to Revolutionize Pediatric Care

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has launched the WISE-HARE app, which leverages Apple Watch technology to create a sleep registry for children aged 5-18. In response to a shortage of pediatric sleep study beds and the limitations of traditional polysomnography (PSG) in clinical settings, the app aims to collect comprehensive sleep data to improve diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. By enrolling children scheduled for PSG studies, WISE-HARE facilitates simultaneous data gathering from both PSG sensors and the Apple Watch, enhancing clinical decision-making while aiming to make the technology accessible for families.
