CHAI Unveils Open-Source AI Model Card to Boost Healthcare Transparency

The Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) has introduced an open-source version of its artificial intelligence Applied Model Card, which aims to function as a "nutrition label" for healthcare AI systems. This initiative seeks to improve transparency and trust between healthcare providers and AI vendors by detailing how AI models are trained and aligning with voluntary standards, including the National Academy of Medicine's AI code of conduct. The model card, developed through collaboration among various stakeholders, is designed to support informed decision-making, streamline procurement processes, and encourage the adoption of AI technologies in healthcare. CHAI is actively soliciting feedback on the model card via GitHub.
