Hackensack Meridian Health has teamed up with Israeli startup SpotitEarly to initiate a pioneering cancer research study utilizing AI and canine detection for early tumor identification. The process involves patients exhaling into a device for trained dogs to sniff out cancer-related volatile organic compounds, which are linked to specific cancers. SpotitEarly's AI technology enhances the canine results by analyzing numerous physiological and behavioral signals to improve detection rates, building on their previous successful study in Israel. This innovative approach could significantly enhance early cancer diagnosis, potentially making it more accessible in diverse healthcare settings.
