Lee Milligan, MD, graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1997 and UCLA Emergency Medicine internship/residency in 2000. He began practicing at Asante upon graduation. Starting in 2012 he expanded his work to include roles in Asante ITS and Clinical Informatics.

Dr. Milligan was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate studies. He and his wife, Jennifer, have four children: Sean, Jake, Molly and Danny. In his free time, he likes to spend quality time with his family outdoors, and riding motorcycles.

I think it's really important to learn to write well. Written communication is key. Whether it's email or a report to your supervisor, when you write something, that represents you. And when they look at that, that's really your brand you're putting out there.
Is there a direct path to the CIO chair? Maybe in some systems. Probably not most. Certainly not in mine. I do think it comes down to the classic three things, people process and technology.
Half of my job is to be CIO. The other half of my job is to solve my CEO's problems.
