All right, let's go over to the website.

ONC releases us CDI version five to drive interoperability. It's interesting to me to watch Mickey Tripathi work. Now. He wasn't the originator of this, but he's been involved pretty much since the gecko. And I thought doing data governance at a health system was a very difficult task. It was a very difficult project. And I'm watching this team at the ONC do data governance at a national level. Across all health systems.

And it's really impressive. The framework that they're using, the data elements that they're adding in the definitions. It's really exciting. So let me just give you a little. Exciting for an interoperability nerd. Okay. That'd be caveat that. All let me give you a couple little here's summary. The ONC for health information technology has released the final version of us CDI. As the United States core data for interoperability version UFC. Version five accompanied by a new standards Bolton. The updated us CDI includes standardized data elements for health information exchange, reflecting over 330 comments and 60 new elements submissions received. From July to September 20, 23.

So if you imagine they go out to the entire community of health systems and say, what do you think? Then they put out their stuff and then they get feedback. And then they. They address it. They're doing it at a national level is very impressive and a good model to follow. Anyway, we go on observations and orders. I've been introduced. Featuring elements like advanced directive observation. And sex parameter for clinical use S PCU. The order's date of class now encompasses elements for medication laboratory diagnostic imaging. Clinical tests and procedure orders, updates were also made to existing data classes, adding elements. In clinical notes, patient demographics information. Providence, immunizations and medications aiming to enhance the clarity and utility of these data standards.

Now, if you can imagine as they do this, At a national level for the interoperability framework, this will clean up a lot of what goes on at the local level. So this is a top-down governance coming down from a regulatory body. That that is informed essentially that's driven into the EHR. Vendors, partners that are out there and we continue to drive this clarity in terms of what data is necessary in the record, what that what, how we classify those data elements, how we define those data elements. Because those data elements are not only going to be used within your four walls.

They're going to be used in other health systems at the point of care, as that patient moves around from location to location, that metal medical record follows them. And we now have a longitudinal patient record on a national level. That's the direction we're going. My guess is we're still a significant way from that, but the frameworks in place.

So you have the the tifca framework you have You have the the new interoperability bodies that have been established. That are sharing data and you have that whole framework together, and now you have the data elements being defined. This is really impressive to see move forward.

Now it moves forward. Very slowly. Because it is very difficult to get this kind of agreement, but once you get this kind of agreement, it's really powerful. Because now you are driving it. Top-down into all these organizations. And it really does. It bodes well for the delivery of care. As we know health, it used to be, background. Yeah. Table stakes for the delivery of care, but now it's so integral in the delivery of care itself. Moving that medical record, moving that data. To the point of care. Becomes critical to delivering high value care and high quality care. As we move forward.

So I excited to move. Micky Tripathi and the team. Very impressive. Love what they're doing and love to support it any way we can. So if you have any questions about this, please check out our website. Please check out this article. Let's see. Where's the main article from the main article is from a tech target. That's where we picked up the article, but you can actually, you can actually hit the us CDI standards. Out on their website as well, the ONC website and view some of this stuff. It's going to be coming down more than likely for you.

It's going to be coming down through the EHR provider. They will adhere to these standards for interoperability. Through the 21st century cures act. And I don't know. It's exciting. I, and I think again, I think really is a significant step forward in the delivery of care at a national level.

And, Probably a anyway, it prepares us for a lot of things to come. All right. That's all for today. Don't forget. Share this podcast with a friend or colleague. Use it as a foundation for mentoring.
