When everything goes wrong, here's a good template for your response.

CrowdStrike reported that hackers exploited the situation, adding additional malware threats, Microsoft, along with Google cloud and AWS. Is collaborating to ameliorate. This situation. While the healthcare community continues to recover, leveraging the incident as crucial learning experience. For future it resilience.
So that is a, that's a summary. If you have CrowdStrike in your health system, You've had a challenging week, a challenging couple of days, probably a long weekend. And it's a significant situation and clearly not one that you, that, uh, what's the best way to say this. Not one that CrowdStrike wants to relive, not one that you want to relive either. However, when you, where you're faced with this, the data centers down, things have happened.
Those kinds of things. What's your response? What should your response be? And I'm going to read you the response from the chief security officer at CrowdStrike. I think it's a classic. So here's what he had to say. This was 19 hours ago. Posted on Monday morning. On Friday, we failed you. And for that, I'm deeply, sorry.

We've disrupted ransomware attacks and high risk intrusions at thousands of companies. And we've identified in black nation state adversaries seeking to actual trade, valuable intellectual property globally. We've built a team and culture, which embodies the spirit of one team.
One fight. We created a stellar reputation over dozens of years, solving people's problems and protecting them from harm. I am as proud of my work at Crosstrek as I was when I was at the FBI, because we've had an impact and we've made a difference. On Friday though, we failed.
On Friday though, we failed. So when this happens, this is a classic response on Friday, though, we failed the past two days have been the most challenging 48 hours. For me over 12 plus years. The confidence we built in drips over the years was lost in buckets within hours. It was a gut punch. That's a great line.

We let down the very people we committed to protect and say, and to say we're devastated is a huge understatement. I am the entire company take that personally.

And that will continue for the immediate future. But that is part of the promise we made to all of you when you put your trust. And protection in our hands. There's 968 reposts. There's 11,000 people that have commented light and other things on it. And I bring this up because there are going to be times if you're in it, there's going to be times in your career where it just doesn't go, something. Just terribly goes wrong. And it's an oversight.
It's usually related to human error of some kind, and it's time to step up as a leader. This is a classic case. The only thing that would have been better than this. Would be if the chief executive officer at CrowdStrike. Had come forward and written this a note, not the chief security officer at CrowdStrike. With that being said it's. Quite frankly, I would get rid of the CEO and I know he's the founder.
I know he's the brain child behind the whole thing. I'd make this guy, the CEO tomorrow. That's my 2 cents. I it's worth that. It's worth about two pennies rubbed together, but I do believe that was a great response to those kinds of situations. Sometimes it just, it pays to just say we failed. And, we recognize that we failed.
