Hey everyone, I'm Drex, and this is the Two Minute Drill, where I do three quick stories twice a week, all part of one great community, the 229 Cyber Risk community here at This Week Health. Today's Two Minute Drill is brought to you by ORDR, the Asset Inventory Intelligence Platform. Did you know that you can know everything about everything on your network, every vulnerability, every risk, every user?
Everything in real time. You can find out more at order. net slash healthcare. Thanks for joining me today. Here's some stuff you might want to know about. I'm going to call this the rap sheet episode because every once in a while bad things do happen to bad people. And these next three stories are a few examples from the past few days where we can score one for the good guys.
If you recall back in January, Bitcoin surged after a hacker busted into the SEC Twitter account and posted comments that caused Bitcoin to jump a thousand bucks within just a few minutes. Well, an Alabama man, we'll call him Bitcoin Bro, has been taken into custody for his part in the SimSwap account hijacking effort.
He could see up to five years in prison for identity theft. and device fraud. The Department of Justice has charged and arrested two Sudanese brothers with operating a hacker group who was very effective at destructive website takedowns. The group known as Anonymous Sudan has launched more than 35, 000 attacks over the past year on a number of organizations including Microsoft OpenAI and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Turns out the private sector played a big role in this, ultimately identifying these guys, good investigations, done in conjunction with the authorities, and companies like CrowdStrike, Amazon, and Microsoft put anonymous Sudan behind bars. Brazilian authorities have arrested a 33 year old man on suspicion of being U.
S. DoD. A prolific cyber criminal who broke into the FBI's InfraGard program and leaked info on 80, 000 members. More recently, you may have heard about USDOD being the guy behind the National Public Data Breach. National Public Data is a consumer based broker and the data that was lost included many of our social security numbers.
Once again, the private sector is involved in this one too. CrowdStrike, for one, is likely involved in this takedown. You can pick up the rest of the story. It's actually a really good one from HackRead. I've posted the link on thisweekhelp. com slash news. And finally today, the State Department's Reward for Justice program has announced a 10 million reward for information on the Russia media organization Rybar, Who've been involved in spreading propaganda to stir political unrest in the United States.
All part of the U. S. government's crackdown on foreign election interference. There you have it. That's the two minute drill rap sheet. Three cheers for the good guys. Today's two minute drill was brought to you by Order. Do you really know who all your devices are talking to? You can. Bring some Order to your enterprise.
