Hey everyone, I'm Drex and . This is the Two Minute Drill, where I cover three hot security stories twice a week, all part of the 229 Cyber and Risk community here at This Week Health. I try to make this a mostly plain English, mostly non technical look at security and risks, so it's great to share with your entire team.

Here's some stuff you might want to know about. Arctic Wolf and BlackBerry have announced they've reached an agreement. Arctic Wolf will acquire Cylance, an endpoint security company that's part of the BlackBerry family. In a cash and stock transaction, Arctic Wolf CEO Nick Schneider says he looks forward to bringing Cylance's capabilities into the game.
into Arctic Wolf's existing XDR platform. California regional healthcare provider PIH Health announced last week that three of its hospitals, as well as urgent care centers, doctors offices, home health, and hospice agencies were all fighting a cyber attack. The facilities are running on downtime procedures, but they don't have access to electronic ORDRs, and they say test results may take longer than normal.
Ransomware actors claim they've stolen data on 17 million patients as part of the attack. And RI Bridges, the statewide system that's used by Rhode Islanders to apply for public assistance like Medicaid and food stamps, was taken offline last week following a cyber attack that may have exposed Personal data of hundreds of thousands of people.
The attack isn't ransomware, according to state officials. They call it an extortion type attack. Just when you think cyber criminals can't go any lower, they attack a public assistance system who serves the poorest Americans who need help the most during the holidays. The Grinch is indeed working overtime here in Whoville.
