Amid rising fears of cyber attacks, a new report from Proofpoint reveals that CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) are increasingly confident in their defensive capabilities. Although 70% of CISOs feel at risk for a significant cyber attack in the next year, only 43% feel unprepared—a decline from previous years. The adoption of AI technologies to mitigate risks is on the rise, as 87% of CISOs plan to deploy AI-powered solutions. Despite facing challenges such as employee turnover and economic pressures, 81% of CISOs feel they have adequate data protection controls, and 84% report stronger alignment with board members on cybersecurity issues. The report underscores increased reliance on strategic defenses, including advanced education, AI technology, and adaptive approaches to evolving threats.
