A recent rise in AI-driven scams targeting Gmail users has prompted security experts to issue warnings about sophisticated phishing attempts, affecting the platform's 2.5 billion users. Hackers are employing tactics such as impersonating Google support in phone calls and using fake Google Forms to create a veneer of legitimacy. Victims have reported manipulative calls that instill fear, convincing them to divulge sensitive information. In light of this escalating threat, Google has joined the Global Anti-Scam Alliance and launched the Global Signal Exchange to enhance intelligence sharing on scams and fraud prevention.
