James L. McCabe, M.D.

Dr. James McCabe serves as the Enterprise Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Jefferson Health, where he leads clinical informatics strategy across the health system. A graduate of Jefferson Medical College (1988) and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. McCabe completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1991.

Dr. McCabe brings deep operational and clinical leadership experience to his informatics role, having served as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Kennedy Health in Washington Township, NJ from 1996 to 2010. In 2011, he transitioned to full-time clinical informatics as CMIO for Kennedy Health System before assuming his current enterprise-wide role at Jefferson Health in August 2023. His unique blend of emergency medicine expertise and informatics leadership positions him at the forefront of healthcare technology transformation.
