What's the number one thing they’re communicating to their clients right now? It's all about relationships. And focus, focus, focus. What do you need to do as a leader to be successful with your cloud strategy? With security? With digital health and analytics? What about your enterprise data strategy? Budget constraints are huge right now but don’t ignore the revenue opportunities that exist out there and new ways to deliver care. Telehealth is a great example. And what about politics? If you hate politics you're not going to be a successful CIO. The idea is to make sure you are seen as the peacemaker and figure out how to get people to do the things they don't want to do. And that takes a lot of finesse.
